Paddling long-distance in a dragon boat is always an adventure, but doing it along Scotland’s stunning Union Canal takes it to another level. Our journey began with a surreal ascent on the iconic Falkirk Wheel, lifting our dragon boat high into the air before we navigated through two sets of locks with determination and teamwork. With headtorches at the ready, we glided through two atmospheric tunnels, our paddles slicing through the still water under arched stone, drips of water cooling us from above! The sunshine smiled down on our crew of happy dragons, whose laughter and camaraderie echoed along the canal, turning every stroke into a shared triumph. We ended our day at Bridge 49, tired but exhilarated, already anticipating the next leg of our adventure—set to begin again on Friday, the longest day of the challenge.
